“As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching to see what we do with ours” – Joyce Maynard
Welcome to No Mum Is An Island. In a world where depression, anxiety, insecurities, and comparisons are the norm, as parents, we owe it to ourselves to take control of our own lives, mind, body and soul. By taking control not only do we change our lives but our children can be shown a better way from early on, through simple, powerful tools that are available to us all.
You upgrade your phone and your computer so why not yourself? More and more parents are realising that deep personal journeys of self mastery and self-acceptance will allow both us, and in turn by modelling behaviour, our children to handle whatever comes our way.
By making sense of some of life’s biggest challenges and reflecting on elements of my own childhood I have been able to recognise cycles, clear self doubt and to own who I am with a deeper understanding.
From this centred place I have been able to built stronger calmer foundations with my daughter, learn new parenting tools, and engage with her from a place of action and not reaction. See the Help tab for more on how I can support you on your journey.
Having a strong willed child has forced me to work on myself. It’s forced me to learn and importantly effectively action powerful parenting tools. The continued journey has led me to sharing my experiences in this blog. From recovering from a brain injury to my daughter getting an recent ADHD diagnosis by sharing my journey I hope it will support yours.
